This printer, scanner, and copier have been my faithful companion for almost four years. This printer has been a great help for school and work assignments. This printer is used by my wife, a homeschool mom, to print copies of her children’s assignments. It is great that you can print on both sides! Photo printing is easy, even though this printer isn’t a photo one. Epson spent a lot of time trying to prove that inkjets can perform the same job as laser printers, despite their many successful lines such as Epson Pro WP-4533. Although inkjets still produce better colour images than lasers, their blurred text quality, high running costs, and slow draft mode (once you move beyond the unsatisfactory draft mode), have made them a poor choice for offices. We’ve seen the Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4530 inkjet, which is among the most expensive. It might prove to be a useful office tool that can replace many a laser.

The ink has received positive reviews. I have never had any leaking issues and have not had any complaints. It worked great with the third-party cartridges that I purchased from Amazon. It is a great device.

It is visually closer to a laser, and it is quite bulbous. This printer is not a slipper. It weighs 13.8kg, making it heavier than many laser models. It’s not surprising, considering the features that the Epson has.

Good quality cartridges mean you don’t have to constantly refill and replace ink. It is easy to use and navigate. You can copy and scan double-sided using either the feeder or flatbed glass.

Printing images (jpg, etc.) has been my only problem. Printing images (jpg, etc.) from an iPad or iPhone is the only problem I have encountered. The printer will pull from the back tray, then say there is a paper jam. Although this was resolved by printing directly from Epson Print App, it still adds a few steps to the process and makes it cumbersome. This has happened only a few times. It is possible to print wirelessly or wired without any problems. An excellent all-in-one.

The Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4530 is capable of printing as well as scanning, copying, and faxing. Its 1200dpi scanning capability is remarkable, and the lid provides a lot of flexibility to cover larger magazines or books. The scan quality is excellent, with clear reproduction of colors. It can also double up as a photocopier, thanks to the Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4530.

A duplex ADF (Automatic Document feeder) is also included. This allows you to easily copy both sides. There are two paper sources available — a 250-sheet tray at the front and 80 sheets at the back. You can move between paper sizes almost effortlessly thanks to this versatile paper handling.

An optional 250-sheet tray, which is unusual for an inkjet, can be bolted onto the Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4530. This will allow you to print up to 580 sheets. This is a very impressive figure for an inkjet.

The Epson is compatible with both Ethernet (albeit an old-school 10/100) as well as 802.11b/g/n WiFi connections. This means that the Epson can be added quickly to any network. Epson Connect allows you to tap into smartphones and iPads for additional versatility. Given the vast number of options, especially the availability of fax facilities, the control panel on the Epson WorkForce PRO WP-4530 is overwhelming. Even though the navigation system’s button-aided navigation may seem a bit outdated, it is still adequate.

Although the 2.5in screen looks great, it was not as easy as we would like to navigate between menus. Considering how many items it contains, however, the menu is quite solid. There are no memory card slots available, but you can use PictBridge to connect a USB drive to the PictBridge port if you need to print photos without the computer.

The printer’s performance was very surprising to us. Epson claims the WP-4530 is “the world’s fastest automatic 2-sided printer.” We are not going to deny that it is very fast. Epson rates the printer’s speed at 16 pages per minute in monochrome, and 11 pages per minute in color. Epson’s claims were confirmed when we printed our test document (a four-page Word document primarily in black text and a small logo) at an average speed of 16 pages per minute.

We were amazed at the WP-4530’s copy speed. It is not common to make multiple copies on an inkjet MFP. This can be frustrating. The WP-4530 is different. Five color copies were printed by the WP-4530 in just 10 seconds. Monochrome was even quicker. Although we don’t recommend printing 100 copies of long reports, especially if they contain a lot more color, casual copying is possible with the WP-4530. This is also reflected in scan and fax capabilities.
